I
have been making art in some form for as long as I can remember
and my work has always been about "the process". The focus of
my current work is based on symbols, mythology and artifacts
of other places and times. By using the qualities of line, shape,
color and texture the painting begins to take shape seemingly
of its own accord.
I use watercolor,
acrylic, collage and mixed media in a layered process and the
images seem to evolve in a mysterious language, molding textures
and colors into a painting that communicates my feelings on
a place or subject. I want to invite the viewer to take a closer
look beyond the surface, to find what is hidden in the many
layers of Watermedia that evoke a sense of mystery and illusion.
